Taking a Motorbike to Hon Son
All three operators carry motorbikes on this route, billed separately from the passenger ticket. Book the bike at least 3 to 5 days ahead when you buy your passenger ticket, and drain most or all of the fuel into a bottle before boarding. Each port end also charges a separate porter handling fee of 30,000 to 50,000 VND per trip. Superdong has room for only about 10 to 15 motorbikes per sailing, and Hoa Binh Shipping accepts bikes only from Rach Gia, not from Hon Son. No operator carries cars.

At Rach Gia Port, Superdong boards at Pier 1, and Lightning 68 and Hoa Binh Shipping board at Pier 3. The port is 1.5 km from the central bus station and 7 km from the airport. At Bai Nha Port, Hoa Binh Shipping has no ticket counter, so buy that ticket in advance. Motorbikes rent for 100,000 to 150,000 VND per day and four-seat electric cars for 300,000 to 400,000 VND per day.
Bai Bac Port on the north of the island serves as an alternate port when sailings change port. It is 4.9 km from Bai Nha Port, 13 minutes by motorbike over the mountain.

Cancellation, Refund and Ticket Change Policy
Superdong, Lightning 68 and Hoa Binh Shipping charge a 30% fee for a cancellation requested at least 24 hours before departure. They do not refund or change tickets on weekends, holidays or Tet, or when a sailing has fewer than five tickets remaining or is full. Lightning 68 and Hoa Binh Shipping do not allow name changes, while Superdong does. If an operator cancels a sailing for weather or safety, passengers receive a full refund or a free change to the nearest departure.
