| How do I book a ferry ticket on Ferry VN? | Select your origin port, destination and travel date on the Ferry VN search page. Compare the sailings and prices of each operator, choose your seat class, enter the passenger details and pay with an international debit or credit card. |
| How will I receive my ferry ticket? | Your e-ticket is sent to your email address after payment, with passenger names, seat numbers, sailing times and a QR code for check-in. You do not need to print it. Take a screenshot so you can show it offline, because signal can be weak at some ports. |
| Can I book tickets for someone else? | Yes. Enter the names and identity details of each traveler during checkout. The names must match the original documents they carry on the day. |
| What payment methods are accepted? | International travelers pay with Visa and Mastercard cards through the OnePay payment gateway. All prices are in Vietnamese Dong. |
| Can I request a VAT electronic invoice for my booking? | Yes. Provide your company name, tax code and address during checkout or within 48 hours of booking. Read the VAT invoice policy for the full rules. |
| What is the free luggage allowance on Vietnam ferries? | It varies by operator. Superdong allows 10 kg, Phu Quoc Express, Greenlines DP and Hoa Binh Shipping allow 20 kg, and Phu Quy Express allows 25 kg. Fuel, flammable and explosive items, chemicals and weapons are prohibited. |
| What time should I arrive at the ferry port? | Arrive 30 to 45 minutes before departure on a fast ferry, and at least 45 minutes before a Phu Quy Express sailing. If you bring a motorbike or car on a car ferry, arrive 60 to 90 minutes before departure. |
| What documents do I need to board? | Bring the original documents, not photocopies. Vietnamese citizens present a CCCD or VNeID, and international travelers present an original passport with a valid visa or exemption. Children under 14 carry an original birth certificate. |
| Can I change or cancel my ferry ticket? | Rules differ by operator. Most fast ferry operators charge 30% when you notify them at least 24 hours before departure, and refunds and changes are not available on weekends, holidays and Tet. Thanh Thoi and Binh An car ferry tickets are not refundable. Read the cancellation policy and the refund policy. |
| What happens if my ferry is canceled because of weather? | If the operator cancels a fast ferry sailing for weather or safety reasons, you receive a 100% refund or a free transfer to the nearest departure. Thanh Thoi and Binh An move passengers to a suitable departure instead of refunding. |
| Are life jackets and safety equipment provided on board? | Yes. Passenger vessels carry life jackets for all passengers, life rafts and fire extinguishers, and crew announce safety information on board. Check where your life jacket is as soon as you sit down. |
