Each operator runs one sailing in each direction every day. The 08:00 departure moves with the tide, and on some days it leaves as early as 05:00 to 07:30, so check the time on your ticket. Timetables also change with the season and the weather, and extra sailings are added for holidays and events.

Superdong is cheaper by about 27,000 VND on weekdays and 87,000 VND at weekends, and it is the only operator that carries motorbikes. Phu Quoc Express has the VIP class and a catamaran that ride steadier in waves, which helps in the November to February wind season.

Superdong offers one Economy class with leather seats, air conditioning, TV, life jackets, free Wi-Fi that weakens far offshore, restrooms, free bottled water, a cold towel and a seasickness bag. It has no USB ports or power sockets. Phu Quoc Express has Economy on the lower deck and part of the upper deck, plus a VIP cabin at the front of the upper deck, with air conditioning, TV, life jackets, free Wi-Fi that weakens offshore, USB ports and power sockets, restrooms, a snack counter, bottled water, a cold towel and a seasickness bag. Con Dao bans single-use plastic bottles, so do not carry them onto the island.

Both operators weigh excess luggage and charge for it on board. Explosives, flammable goods, chemicals, weapons, livestock and poultry are prohibited. To reduce seasickness, sit in the middle of the lower deck.
Taking a Motorbike to Con Dao
Superdong is one of the few operators that carries motorbikes to Con Dao. The fee is about 250,000 to 400,000 VND per trip depending on the bike, plus a porter loading fee of 30,000 to 50,000 VND at each port end. Space is limited to about 10 to 15 motorbikes per sailing, so book 3 to 5 days ahead with your passenger ticket, arrive 90 minutes before departure to load, and drain most or all of the fuel into a bottle before boarding. Phu Quoc Express does not carry motorbikes, and neither operator carries cars.

Superdong Soc Trang Port is about 35 km, 45 minutes by road, from the center of old Soc Trang. From Can Tho it is about 78 km, 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours. From Ho Chi Minh City it is about 216 km, 4 to 5 hours by coach or limousine, so many travelers take a night coach to reach the 08:00 sailing.

Cancellation, Refund and Ticket Change Policy
Both operators charge a 30% fee for a cancellation requested at least 24 hours before departure, and later requests are not refundable. Neither refunds or changes tickets on weekends, holidays or Tet, or when a sailing has fewer than five tickets remaining or is full. If an operator cancels a sailing for weather or safety, passengers receive a full refund or a free change to the nearest departure.
