The sea is calm and sunny from March to September, with the busiest weeks from April to June and around April 30 and May 1. From October to February the monsoon brings larger waves to this 104 km open-sea crossing, and sailings can be rescheduled. Book 1 to 2 days ahead on ordinary dates and 5 to 7 days ahead for public holidays and summer, because each operator has only one or two sailings per direction.

Taking a Motorbike to Phu Quy
Passenger tickets do not include a motorbike. Operators carry motorbikes on the same ferry through a separate cargo service, in a dedicated motorbike area away from the passenger cabin. The service takes up to 4 motorbikes per sailing, and you must complete the formalities at least 12 hours before departure. Cargo fares exclude VAT and the handling fee at both ports. No operator on this route carries cars.

Phan Thiet Passenger Port serves all four operators. Phu Quy Port is the only high-speed ferry port on the island, so every sailing from Phan Thiet lands there.
From Ho Chi Minh City, Phan Thiet is about 200 km away, roughly 3 hours by coach or private car. Leave Ho Chi Minh City at 02:00 to 03:00 in the morning or travel the night before to reach the port for a 06:00 to 07:00 sailing.

Cancellation, Refund and Ticket Change Policy
Phu Quoc Express, Superdong and Chan Kha Luxury charge a 30% fee for a cancellation requested at least 24 hours before departure, and requests made later are not refundable. These three operators do not refund or change tickets on weekends, holidays or Tet, or when a sailing has fewer than five tickets remaining or is full.
Phu Quy Express uses a sliding fee based on how early you cancel.
