Phu Quoc Express and Superdong run three sailings in each direction every day and add a fourth in the peak season, while Lightning 68 runs one sailing each way every day. The first morning sailings sell out first in peak periods.
Phu Quoc to Rach Gia Ferry
Phu Quoc Express, Superdong, Lightning 68 and Thanh Thoi all run the Phu Quoc to Rach Gia ferry. The fast ferries board at Bai Vong Terminal, and Thanh Thoi boards at its own terminal on Phu Quoc. The first sailing back leaves at 06:45 on Thanh Thoi, and the first fast ferry leaves at 07:10 on Phu Quoc Express and arrives at 09:40. The last fast ferry back leaves at 13:30 on Superdong and arrives at 16:00, and the last car ferry leaves at 14:45 on Thanh Thoi. Lightning 68 returns at 12:55 and arrives at 15:20. One-way fares are the same as from Rach Gia.

On Phu Quoc the Thanh Thoi terminal lies south of Bai Vong Terminal, about 3.2 km by road. From Bai Vong Terminal, Duong Dong town is about 14 km away (27 to 30 minutes by taxi) and Phu Quoc International Airport 6.6 km. Superdong runs a shuttle from Bai Vong Terminal to its Duong Dong ticket office for 40,000 VND. Ride-hailing fares to Duong Dong are 74,000 VND by motorbike and 161,000 to 180,000 VND by four-seat car. Every ferry route to the island is listed in the Phu Quoc travel guide.
Getting to Rach Gia Port
Rach Gia bus station is 1.5 km from Rach Gia Port, about 5 minutes by taxi for 30,000 to 40,000 VND, and Rach Gia Airport is 7 km away, about 15 minutes by taxi. Buses from Ho Chi Minh City (230 km) take 5 hours to 5 hours 45 minutes, and overnight buses leaving at 22:00 to 23:00 arrive around 04:00 to 05:00, in time for the first ferries. Buses from Can Tho (115 km) take about 3 hours 20 minutes. Rach Gia Port also serves the islands of Nam Du, Hon Son and Hon Tre.
Seat Classes, Onboard Amenities, Luggage and Motorbike Transport
Phu Quoc Express offers Economy plus an 18-seat leather VIP cabin on PQE 6 and PQE 8, with air conditioning, TV, free Wi-Fi, USB charging and power outlets. Superdong has one Economy class with cushioned leather seats, air conditioning, TV and free Wi-Fi. Lightning 68 offers Economy massage seats that recline 45 degrees, plus a VIP cabin with premium massage seats, a TV, air conditioning, a refrigerator, free drinks and priority boarding and disembarkation. All three fast ferries carry life jackets, have restrooms and a snack counter, and hand out bottled water, a cold towel and a seasickness bag. Thanh Thoi passengers ride in an air-conditioned upper lounge with leather seats, TV, free Wi-Fi and a coffee bar while vehicles stay on the lower deck.

Passenger and vehicle fares are charged separately, so one adult with a motorbike pays 480,000 VND. The Rach Gia crossing takes motorbikes and cars only, with no trucks or containers. Arrive 60 minutes early with a motorbike and 90 minutes early with a car, and bring the original registration papers, valid insurance and a driving license in the name on the ticket.
Superdong carries motorbikes on its fast ferries, with space for about 10 to 15 per sailing, so reserve 3 to 5 days ahead. Drain the fuel into a bottle before boarding, and expect a loading fee of 30,000 to 50,000 VND at each port. Phu Quoc Express and Lightning 68 do not carry motorbikes on this crossing.
Luggage and Prohibited Items
Phu Quoc Express includes 20 kg of free luggage per passenger and Superdong includes 10 kg. Excess weight is charged on board. Phu Quoc Express and Superdong both ban explosives, flammable goods, chemicals and weapons. Phu Quoc Express also refuses livestock and poultry, and Superdong refuses drugs and strong-smelling or leaking goods. Thanh Thoi bans spare fuel and other hazardous goods.

Cancellation, Refund and Ticket Change Policy
Phu Quoc Express, Superdong and Lightning 68 charge a 30% fee to cancel at least 24 hours before departure, with no refund after that. All three refund 100% or rebook you free when they cancel for weather or safety. With 24 hours notice, Phu Quoc Express changes a ticket for 30% and a passenger name free once, and Lightning 68 changes a ticket for 30% but does not allow name changes. Superdong allows name and sailing changes before departure, and refunds in full if it reschedules your sailing. None of the fast ferries refunds or changes tickets on public holidays, Tet, weekends, or sailings with fewer than five seats left.
Thanh Thoi tickets are non-refundable, even when the operator cancels, and are valid only for the date and time printed. Thanh Thoi moves you to another suitable sailing instead.
